A More Personal Approach to Assisted Living

Built for fewer people. Designed around each one.

At Hartstone, we believe needing extra support shouldn't mean giving up the comfort and familiarity of home. That's why we're creating an intimate assisted living community with just 14 private suites, designed around personal routines, meaningful relationships, and individual dignity.

A community small enough to know every resident

Hartstone was designed for fewer people on purpose. A smaller setting changes what every day looks like for the residents who live there.

Familiar surroundings

Every suite is private, with room for a resident's own furniture, photographs and artwork, so the move brings the familiar along. The living room, dining room and patio are a few steps away, the way they are in a house.

Individual routines

A small team in one building learns how each resident likes to start the day, take meals and spend the afternoon, and shapes the day around that rather than around a schedule.

Meaningful relationships

With so few residents, the people who serve the meals and say good morning are the same people every day. Residents know the team by name, and the team knows them.

A more residential everyday experience

Meals are prepared fresh in the kitchen at the heart of the building and served family-style in the dining room. The pace is a home's, not a campus's.

Our philosophy is simple: treat every resident as we would want our own family to be treated, with dignity, compassion and unwavering attention to their unique needs.

The Hartstone team

Family-owned, founder-led

Hartstone is family-owned. Founder Mike Sherman spent nearly two decades in fire and EMS before setting out to build a small community: one building and a team that knows every resident.

The building and the suites

Hartstone was designed as one intimate home rather than a campus. Residents are steps from the living room, the dining room and kitchen, the patio and the salon.
